Attractions in cuba

Cuba, the largest island in the Caribbean, is full of culture, history and captivating natural sceneries. The beauty of its colonial cities with vintage cars in every corner, its dimand-dust beaches or the stories behind its sublime countryside are just some of the things that make Cuba special. Tourism in Cuba can take many different forms but there are certain must-see attractions on the island. At Espíritu Travel we invite you to pick your favorite ones from our list of top attractions in Cuba.

Old Havana

‘La vieja Habana’ or Old Havana is the historic city center of the capital. By strolling around its streets you will discover architectural treasures such as monuments, fortresses, churches and palaces from different periods. Old Havana is a living slide of Cuban history.

Some of its main sights include Plaza de la Catedral, where the breath-taking San Cristobal Cathedral is placed; Bodeguita del Medio, Hemingway’s favorite restaurant to hangout; or Castillo de la Real Fuerza, a massive military fortress in the middle of the city. This area is in every single ‘Cuba tourism and attractions’ guide since it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982.

If you are interested in visiting it, our ‘Long Weekend in Havana’ trip is for you. Get a good sense of Cuban history with a quick get-away to Havana.

We also offer a slightly longer trip for those that are lucky enough to be able to spend more time doing tourism in Cuba. Check out our Week in Cuba trip

Parque Nacional Viñales

Also known as Viñales Valley, this National Park is without question one of the most beautiful landscapes on the island. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is formed by breath-taking natural sceneries that originated more than 100 million years ago during the Cretaceous period. Viñales is also known for its spectacular caves such as Gran Caverna de Santo Tomás, considered the largest cave system in the country, or Cueva del Indio, covered in beautiful cave paintings.
